Because our business is based in America, we will mostly target Americans; however, since we are an online business, people from any country around the world can purchase from PackMyParty.com.  Therefore, to cater to both the ethnic diversity within America as well as the cultures outside of America, we will have a number of culturally themed party packages such as kits for Hanukkah, Chinese New Year, Yakudoshi, and more.  

As for our target age and gender, although anyone who has enough money and means to throw a party can buy packages from our online store, our target demographic will primarily be both working men and women in their mid 20’s to mid 40’s.  According to the United States 2000 Census of Population and Housing, there are nearly 85 million people between the ages of 25-44, making up 30.2% of the entire United States population.  This number is projected to stay relatively stable over the next 50 years (U.S. Interim Projections). 

We suspect that those of this age group will throw the most variety of parties and are probably starting or have careers and families.  Therefore, they will likely be holding office parties, children’s birthday parties, sports parties, and more, yet may be too busy or have too little money to plan a party on their own or hire an event planner.  PackMyParty.com can therefore be a valuable resource for these customers since we will make party planning faster, easier, and cheaper. 

To cater to both genders of our audience, we have packages for common occasions such as birthdays, graduations, Christmas, New Year’s, and other seasonal holidays.  To target the women, we will have kits for parties typically planned by women including children’s birthday parties and baby showers.  For our male audience, we will have packages for events that are traditionally masculine, such as Superbowl party packs, bachelor parties, and Bar mitzvahs.
